Again I receive my favorite kind of voicemail, one from my niece. She starts off singing something I can't understand. "... Oh Oh what up what up oh hey hey... I was wondering if you have enough money to fly to Colorado on the fourth of the July. So if you have enough money or you don't just call and say yes or no. If you say no it will be OK but just call me back. I will call you back too. But if you don't call us back by June 4, I bet you will, but just in case you don't. We are just are going to go! We are not going to wait for you, Auntie. We Have to go! Oh my Gosh! I forgot I am talking on speakerphone....(talks about what she is reading). I will give you my cell.. I will repeat it 3 more times! Here is my home numbers.." (I know I am getting old, but hey, I have the numbers in my phone, in my phone book, even got the home number memorized..I promise! Note to self to reassure the child that I have her numbers and I know where she lives!)
I call back but unfortunately the little one was not available. So I passed the message on to her Mom that of course I will be going! I am very excited to go to Colorado to visit Uncle AJ and Auntie Aly and my darlings Megan and Noah. Thank goodness I met the June 4 deadline!!

"Auntie, You know You do too!"
So I get another voice message from my sweet little niece:
" Hi Auntie this is me, Kym. I am mad that I don't have a baby niece or brother niece. I really want you to have one, 'cause I'm really really bored and I want someone to play with and not Jake 'cause he wrestles me. Call me back when you have time... or if you are at work or if you are sleeping. Sorry this message is really long... And I also love you. I know you and Kenny are just friends. I know that. I wish you had a a boy friend and yeah or have a baby I really want you to... And Auntie, you know you do to! So call me back. Love you, Bye, Kymmie"
I Call Kymmie Back. "Sorry Kymmie, Auntie is not having a baby anytime soon."
" How come. What about Kenny."
"We are just friends."
" Why?" Starting to feel somewhat uncomfortable and wondering if somehow her mother is putting her up to this.
"Tell your mommy you want her to have a baby. "
" She says no, she does not want any more children."
I was going to tell her I would get her a puppy. But I had to hold my tongue. Especially since I had bought her a mouse, which after many weeks at my apt, had to plead with her mother for Kymmie keep at her house. It wasn't exactly all my fault. Dionne told me to take Kym to look at the books or pets, so Kymmie and I would leave her and Grandma alone be so they could shop.
I Tell her I will bring a sweet baby doll for her, next time I see. which will be Thursday for her school play. She respectfully declines.
The Smart Girl that Kymmie is she asked about Adoption. "Auntie you can adopt!" She says this as though it is vital to her happiness.
"It takes a long time to adopt." I respond. Not wanting to get her hopes up or upset her further.
Kymmie saids "that's OK Auntie, how about next Thursday... What's good for you?"
I blame my brother for taking his two adorable children away to Colorado, her most favorite playmates and best cousins in the world. Thus, putting the pressure on me to reproduce.
"One day, Kymmie dear. Maybe one day."

Update
I spoke to my loving sister today and she clarified that the Tooth Fairy did visit Lil Kymmie after all and circled YES on her letter, where it asked whether or not she was for reals. Also the fairy was so kind to leave a silver dollar and a Susan B Anthony dollar.
Thank you Tooth Fairy!!!!!! We all smile bigger knowing that you are for real!!

Everyone is loosing their tooths!!
Not long after reading how Noah and Megan have lost their teeth, giving toothy grin smiles on AJ and Aly's Family Blog. Little Kymmie reports that he has lost a tooth as well.
"Now I look like a vampire!"
I said. "Cool Kim. Kinda like me with my pale face. Be sure to put it under the pillow for the Tooth Fairy."
"OK Auntie, but I don't believe in magic, don't you know.." Nevertheless, she agrees to humor me and await patiently for the Tooth Fairy to visit.
The next evening I get a voicemail from the child. "Auntie! I am trying to call you. Please answer me. Call me back. Our Numbers are 949..... ( not my number is, but our numbers are...lol).
So, I call her back. She saids. "Auntie, I wrote the Tooth Fairy a letter and put it under my pillow, it said I don't really believe in magic but if you are real please let me know!"
"Did she write you back?" I asked.
"Nope!"
"Hmmm, did you tell your mom that you wrote her a letter?" I asked.
"Yeah. but still nodda."
"Well, maybe she was busy and might come tonight."
"Yeah, may be, Auntie...."
8 years old and the magic is gone! Quick someone slap my sister in the head.

So Kymmie calls me and saids: " Auntie, I picked Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to be my hero." (For her 2ND grade school project).
I said, " Very cool, Kym." We had narrowed it down the infinite possibilities together to 3 choices: Rosa Parks, Mozart and of course Dr. Seuss. (We agreed to narrow it down to three very important categories Peace/Civil Rights, Music, and Literature.)
"He is a musical Genius. Don't you know... And Auntie if you go to Mozart.com you can see a little girl there on YouTube. She has a gift. She could play scales on the piano when she was 2! and she preformed in the White house when she is four. She is older now."
"Wow," I said, "that is Awesome! She does have a gift. When I see you again I'll teach you how to play the scale on the piano. Okay."
" Okay Auntie..."
